How to have a cost-effective cremation
Since the late 1960s, more than half of the funerals conducted in England have involved cremation. Cremations now account for almost 80% of UK funerals.* Interestingly, direct cremations are the only form of funeral that have reduced in price in the last 12 months.** The main reason for their cost effectiveness is that there are no ‘extras’ required, flowers, limousines and other costs to personalise a funeral. However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t celebrate a loved one’s life at a later date with a personal memorial of your preference.
Financial considerations are certainly high on the priority list when considering funeral options, however, many people also like the simplicity of a direct cremation. There is certainly less stress involved in the organisation, and a lower potential for disagreements amongst family members about what their loved one would have wanted especially as many people don’t note their wishes. A direct cremation also allows families to process their grief in their own time and in private, holding a memorial when they feel ready. To support in the arrangement of your loved one’s direct cremation, we have a dedicated Client Relationship Manager on hand 24/7.
At Perfect Cremation, we have kept things simple and clear not only in regard to arranging a direct cremation but also in our pricing, which starts from £1345. Stating from the outset what’s included and the optional services available such as non-hospital collections, priority return of ashes and a certificate to remove ashes outside of the UK. Katy and Michelle, founders and owners of Perfect Cremation have worked tirelessly to dispel the common funeral myth that the more you spend on a funeral is directly linked to the amount of love you had for that person.
Included in the price of our direct cremation is your own special memorial website in tribute to your loved one, where you can share memories add music and photos and light candles. While there is no funeral service associated with a direct cremation, we treat your loved one with the same amount of respect and care, and you are free to celebrate their life how and when you wish, within your personal budget. We are also members of the National Association of Funeral Directors which means that we abide by the requirements of the Funeral Director Code and are subject to unannounced mortuary inspections at regular intervals.
